Blondes shine at Darlington for the Appleton's
Both Blonde maternal and paternal traits contributed to a successful win at Darlington market for the Applejack herd.
Winning the February show of store cattle is becoming a healthy habit for father and daughter team Ian and Rebecca Appleton of Pudding Poke Farm, Elwick as they repeated last year’s success and scooped both the Champion and Reserve accolades
Judge Mr Rob Mason of Brookside Farm, Leicestershire went on to later buy the worthy Champion for £1260. The winning pick was a wonderful 12 month old Blue crossed heifer out of a Blonde cow with bags of show potential, full of shape and style as was her pen mate, the reserve champion, a Blonde sired crossed heifer which was bought for £1180 by N G Beveridge, Low West House, Tow Law.
Up Coming Sale: Friday 2nd March at Borderway Mart Carlisle. Judging takes place at 9.30am followed by sale at 11am. A great opportunity to purchase top quality Blonde bulls and females
