Felltop Joyce makes her mark at the Royal Highland show.

Royal Highland show Champion, Felltop Joyce from Thor Atkinson bred by John Stott made a great impression on Judge David Tomlinson from Carlisle. Joyce sired by Ark Diego born May ‘14, continued on from her success at the Great Yorkshire show 2017 having been crowned Champion British Blonde. Joyce lifted the Scottish Blonde cup for the junior cow class before being presented with the champion Blonde plaque for the Blonde champion at the Royal Highland 2018.

Reserve champion went to Classic Miss Belle from Willie McElroy bred by Dermot McCusker sired by Budore Utah born January ‘16. Classic Miss Belle not only took the reserve Blonde Championship picking up the Easterton trophy, but also lifted the Paragon ET trophy for the Senior heifer class that she initially won.

Ramrig Ninja Warrior born February ’17 sired by homebred bull Ramrig Jumping Jack Flash lifted an array of silverware, exhibited by George Hamilton from Berwickshire. First success of the day was winning his intermediate bull class lifting the Semex trophy before winning the Neils trophy for the junior championship. Ninja Warrior was also awarded the Brownhill trophy for the champion Blonde bred by the exhibitor.

Whitefield Freya born January ‘10 and sired by Whistly Dollar was exhibited by L.Laird and Son from Fife, having been bred by Eric Mutch from Aberdeenshire, won the senior cow class lifting the J & F Buchanan trophy.

Gledney Keva born April ‘16 sired by Drumraymond Grafter and exhibited by Connor Savage from Co. Down was awarded the Aberdeen and Northern Marts trophy for the intermediate heifer.

Newland Nadia born January ’17 and sired by Kilmoney Bruce, again from Thor Atkinson from Ulverston, Cumbria lifted the North of Scotland trophy for the junior heifer born between January and May 2017.

Brownhill Nevil born June ’17 and sired by Hallfield Holmer bred and exhibited by John Hope from Lanarkshire, won the junior bull class lifting the Ashtonlodge challenge cup.

Ramrig McGarnett born February ‘16 and sired by Hallfield Falcon was exhibited by George Hamilton from Dunns; won the senior bull class and was awarded the Holloways trophy.

L Laird and son went on to win the group of three from one exhibitor with George Hamilton taking the red ribbons for the pair’s class.

In the Interbreed group of four Felltop Joyce, Ramrig Ninja Warrior, Classic Miss Belle and Gledney Keva joined forces to pick up a fifth places in a strong class.
