Doncombe Madhu leads the way at Malvern.


Doncombe Madhu took the Championship at the Premier Blonde Show held within the Royal Three Counties, Malvern for the second year having won the calved heifer class and the female Blonde championship earlier in the competition. She was also the Reserve Interbreed champion of the show.

Madhu born January’16 sired by French bull Aramis, bred and exhibited by D&S Knight from Bristol lifted the Farm Mark Perpetual Trophy amongst numerous other silverware including the Doncombe perpetual challenge trophy for the best exhibitor bred animal.

Madhu with her calf at foot went onto win the Continental interbreed championship.

Senior cow Doncombe Indika born January ’13 sired by homebred bull Doncombe Voyageur exhibited and bred by D&S Knight lifted the Avoncroft perpetual trophy. Senior heifer Penwen M&Ms born April ’17 sired by Lochhead Tyson, bred and exhibited by T&J Hickin from Ceredigion lifted the Hillhead perpetual challenge trophy.

Intermediate heifer Meadow Nefetti sired by Thornbury Gerrard bred by Derek Hicks, owned and exhibited by C Brain from Pathlow, Stratford on Avon lifted the WJ McElroy trophy.

Junior heifer Doncombe Over the Moon born March’18 sired by homebred bull Doncombe Hervelious was again from the D&S Knights herd in Bristol and lifted the Avoncrofts Perpetual trophy.

The Junior heifer born between 1/5/18 and 31/12/18 Samoht Oasai sired by French bull Laser born July’18 bred and exhibited by P Thomas from Wokingham, Berkshire lifted the Midland Blonde trophy.

The Calf class was won by Whistley Outstanding born December ’18 sired by French bull Folker bred and exhibited by S Potter from West Harptree, Bristol who lifted the South Wales club cup.

Senior Male Doncombe Mulungu born April ’16 sired by Doncombe Voyageur bred and exhibited by D&S Knight from Bristol lifted the Lambert Fenchurch Perpetual trophy.

Intermediate bull Nantygelli Nicholas born April’17 sired by Doncombe Labrynth bred by S Pegington and now owned and exhibited by Middleton Farming from Ludlow lifted the Blackwater Perpetual trophy as well as the Farmers Weekly Perpetual challenge trophy for the Male championship.

Junior bull Samoht Omani born April’18 sired by French bull Vermeil bred and exhibited by P Thomas from Wokingham, Berkshire lifted the Bradnock Perpetual challenge trophy as well as the Rex Diffey trophy for the Junior Champion.

The breed pairs was won by Doncombe Blondes which included Doncombe Mulungu and Doncombe Madhu lifted the Farmers Weekly Perpetual challenge trophy for the best pair of animals from one exhibitor.
