Newlands Tanza adds another Championship to her belt at the Three Counties Show 2025

At the Three Counties Show 2025, the Atkinson family’s Newland herd excelled, with Newland Tanza winning Overall British Blonde Champion. Judged by Mr Geoffrey Rodgers, the event showcased high-quality cattle. Silverwood Ula was awarded Reserve Champion, reflecting strong competition among breeders. The show highlighted exceptional cattle from various contributors.

Visit to the Glenwood Blonde Herd: Highlights and Insights

The NI Blonde Cattle Club enjoyed a successful visit to the Glenwood Blonde Herd in Tipperary, managed by the O’Halloran family. With a herd of 110 breeding females, the visit showcased impressive maternal lines and hospitality, highlighted by Conor’s recent judging honor at the Balmoral Show. The O’Hallorans’ knowledge impressed all attendees.

NEWLAND VALENTINO JUNIOR INTERBREED CHAMPION

Newland Valentino from Arradfoot & Newland Pedigree Livestock won the Junior Interbreed Champion title at the Devon County Show, held from May 15-17, 2025. Other notable winners included Newland Tanza, with her calf Newland Amelia, as Breed Champion, and Exmoor Vinniphina as Reserve Champion. Congratulations were extended for their achievements.

HILLHEAD HERD VICTORIOUS AT BALMORAL 2025

At the Balmoral Show on May 14, 2025, the Rodgers family claimed the overall championship with Hillhead Victor, who also won the junior male title. The reserve champion was also bred by the Rodgers, Hillhead Unicorn, owned and exhibited by G McClelland, was crown female champion. Notable wins were also recorded in various categories, showcasing pedigree excellence.

Carlisle Spring Sale 2025

At the H & H Borderway sale in Carlisle on May 10, 2025, British Blonde bulls matched the record price of 12,000gns, led by the Overall Champion Hallfield Umpire 23rd. The event saw an impressive average of £9,100 and a complete clearance, highlighting strong demand in the market.

Welshpool Spring Sale 2025

The Welshpool spring show and sale featured British Blonde cattle with a 100% clearance. Whitepeak Uruk-Hai won champion, and bulls sold for up to 4,800gns, averaging £4,809.

Dungannon Spring Sale 2025

At the British Blonde Cattle Society Spring sale at Dungannon Farmers’ Mart, a record price of 4,700gns was achieved for Moneyscalp Ultimate, the pre-sale Champion exhibited by Gerard and Gary McClelland. Silverwood Ulyses was named Reserve Champion. The event appreciated its sponsors, judge, and all participants in the sale.

Tangier Farm, established in 2018 by Steven Gregory and his twin daughters Emma and Lucy, operates on 500 acres, focusing on pedigree British Blonde cattle. With around 400 commercial beef cattle, a small farm shop, and a contracting business, the Gregorys emphasize both commercial success and herd quality, aspiring for future growth and significant involvement in regional activities.
