A strong entry of quality cattle came before the judge at Carlisle, with exhibitors presenting a deep and impressive line-up across the bull and female classes. Both in the ring and at sale time, the day reflected continued demand for British Blonde cattle with style, pedigree and performance behind them.

Newland Tanza takes top honours at the 2025 Royal Welsh Show

Blondes returned to the Royal Welsh Show in strong form, with Newland Tanza lifting the Overall Championship under judge Lucy Corner. Exhibitors enjoyed near-perfect conditions, showcasing impressive depth and quality throughout the classes. Newland Tanza, a stylish cow from Mr. Thor Atkinson, was praised for her good feet and legs, while Fronfedw Tegarian, a younger heifer, stood as Reserve Overall. The competition was fierce, with standout performances in both the male and junior categories.

Melissa Davidson has made headlines at The Great Yorkshire Show 2025, showcasing her remarkable cow, Hilltop Oceanina! This impressive seven-year-old not only clinched the Senior Cow class but also triumphed as Female Champion and Overall Champion. Judge Mr. D Skinner praised Oceanina for her outstanding qualities, highlighting her powerful build and nurturing capabilities. The competition was fierce, with Frank Atkinson’s Newland Valentino taking Reserve Overall Champion. Newlands Tanza adds another Championship to her belt at the Three Counties Show 2025

At the Three Counties Show 2025, the Atkinson family’s Newland herd excelled, with Newland Tanza winning Overall British Blonde Champion. Judged by Mr Geoffrey Rodgers, the event showcased high-quality cattle. Silverwood Ula was awarded Reserve Champion, reflecting strong competition among breeders. The show highlighted exceptional cattle from various contributors.

NEWLAND VALENTINO JUNIOR INTERBREED CHAMPION

Newland Valentino from Arradfoot & Newland Pedigree Livestock won the Junior Interbreed Champion title at the Devon County Show, held from May 15-17, 2025. Other notable winners included Newland Tanza, with her calf Newland Amelia, as Breed Champion, and Exmoor Vinniphina as Reserve Champion. Congratulations were extended for their achievements.

HILLHEAD HERD VICTORIOUS AT BALMORAL 2025

At the Balmoral Show on May 14, 2025, the Rodgers family claimed the overall championship with Hillhead Victor, who also won the junior male title. The reserve champion was also bred by the Rodgers, Hillhead Unicorn, owned and exhibited by G McClelland, was crown female champion. Notable wins were also recorded in various categories, showcasing pedigree excellence.

Stars of the Future 2024

The 14th edition of Stars of the Future took place on November 8-9, 2024, at United Auctions, Stirling. The event featured a young handler competition judged by Jason Wareham and a livestock contest with 379 calves. Alistair Cormack judged the ‘Any Other Breeds’ section, awarding Hutton Veda ll as the junior champion.

Four Breed Calf Show 2024

At the 4th annual Four Breed Calf Show 2024 in Ballymena, judge John Barry Moran awarded Ballygowan Victoria as Junior Champion and Moneyscalp Vodka as Senior Champion. The competition highlighted strong cattle, including Ballygowan Ursula and Silverwood Vita, showcasing the quality of British Blonde cattle and sponsor support from BVC Farm Vets.

Royal Ulster Premier Beef and Lamb Championship 2024

On 26th November 2024, the McCrea family from Strabane won the British Blonde champion carcase at the Royal Ulster Premier Beef and Lamb Championship. Purchased by Foyle Food Group for J Magill & Sons, butcher Steven Magill expressed delight in the award-winning beef, which is expected to meet customer demand for New Year’s Eve.
